This We will be hosting two NJ10 events this year. Due to demand, we are having one the Spring and the other in the Fall.
Welcome to NJ10. New Jersey’s Ten Miler and 5k
The 2021 Event will be a Virtual Event
A. Spring Event: April 1st – May 15th, 2021
Spring Time Time Trial/Virtual Event April 1 – May 15th. There will be two races going on under the umbrella of the NJ10 Spring Time Race. There is only the 10 Miler distance available. Choose either option.
Option 1: The first is a Virtual Event. After registering, Run 10 miles anywhere you choose, and send us your results via email. The acceptable results format include any tracking software, or picture of your watch that record time/distance/pace. All athletes are on the honor system and will compete this race on their own and certify their own course. This option includes a Race T-Shirt, Finisher Medal, and Trophy (if applicable). You may use your race number to redeem it as a coupon at GoJi in Somers Point Goji Juice Bar. Coupon offer ends June 1st. This event will be scored separately due to the variation of course terrains. We are asking you to submit your results on the same day you run the race via email to PRracing111@yahoo.com That includes a map/gps of the course, time and overall distance of the course. This can be done on MapMyRun , Strava, Relive, RunKeeper… If you enter your age group in this event , you will not be counted in the time trial event that traverses the NJ10 Official Course. All age groups categories will be the same for both options, just separate. Register now for this event: NJ10 Virtual Event
Option 2: This will be a live event where all athletes will run on the same course as a time trial event. You choose the time and date you would like to run. We are discouraging crowds, or groups that don’t normally train together over 10 athletes. Running groups/clubs that normally train together is acceptable. This is a great opportunity to have a family/friend/ or loved one flank you during this run while on their bike. This event is a non-supported event in that there will be no directional or volunteers to provide water/support. You are on your own and expected to follow the rules/laws of the road while on this course. You may rely on support from family/friend/loved ones from the bike, while running the course. This is a looped course without too many turns. Review the map link and the course verbiage that describes the route in the second third paragraph of this section. This option includes a Race T-Shirt, Finisher Medal, draw string tote bag with NJ10 Logo (first 100 athletes) and personalized Trophy (if applicable). You may use your race number to redeem it as a coupon at Goji in Somers Point Goji Juice Bar. Coupon offer ends June 1st. Register now for this Time Trial Event: NJ10 Virtual Event
Since this event will be largely an individual event, we have created the map of the course below. All athletes will run the course in a counter clock-wise direction and we ask you to run on the side walk and against traffic (other than the initial causeway where you will be on the bike path) to ensure your greater safety. If you are unfamiliar with this course, please see the course details for the in-person event below. Running the course in a counter clock-wise direction should not impede you in any way. There maybe one traffic light that may hold you up( @ Bay Ave and the 9th St Causeway, OC) , but simply stop your watch until you can safely cross (just like you may normally do on a training run). Just remember to restart the watch. The distance and time need to be recorded for your results.
Results: We are asking you to submit your results on the same day you run the course, via email, to PRracing111@yahoo.com That includes a map/gps of the course, time and overall distance of the course. This can be done on MapMyRun , Strava, Relive, RunKeeper… Click on the link, in blue at the end of the paragraph, to check out the course. Results will be coallated, Tshirt and Trophies ordered on May 15th so you must complete the course by May 15th. We will be shooting for an awards ceremony delivered via Zoom on or about June 1st. This is an awesome course: NJ10 Spring Course Map
Narrative of Directions of the NJ10: Leave Kennedy Park (start marked), make right onto Broadway, follow sidewalk in front to Crab Trap restaurant and in front of Circle Liquor to the 9th street causeway on the shared path (run/bike/walk). Take causeway over to Ocean City and make a right at the first light (Bay Ave). Take Bay Ave to Battersea Ave and make a right (@ OC Yacht Club). Make a left onto West Atlantic Blvd, to Bridge Blvd (keeping the median to your right). Stay on Bridge Blvd until the toll bridge that takes you towards Longport. Continue running on the shoulder after the toll plaza across the causeway until you get the the first intersection. Make a left toward the traffic light (one short block) and then another right onto the Longport Blvd (causeway) heading back toward Somers Point. Make a left onto Anchorage Dr. Make a loop around Anchorage Point using Stem, Point Dr, and Obryne Dr (it doesn’t matter in which order – same distance) and back to Anchorage Dr then a left back onto Longport Blvd (causeway) unti the traffic light. Make left at that light onto Bay Ave (in Somers Point) until the parking lot at the intersection of Bay and Shore Rd. run using the sidewalk along the perimeter of that parking lot as it wraps you around toward the bay and UNDERNEATH the 9th street causeway. This will bring you out to the sidewalk in front of Circle Liquor. Take that same sidewalk back to the Crab Trap and then to Broadway. Make a left at the intersection back to the park and enter the same way you left the park. Follow the road back to the starting point and stop your watch there.
You can drive the almost the entire course to familiarize your selves prior to running it. The only exception is the same section at the end of the course that takes you under the 9th street causeway. Do not attempt to drive on this section of the course.
For either Spring option, the bottom of your race number is your coupon at Goji Juice Bar, our proud partner. If you are not local and will be traveling from out of the area, they have offered their bathroom if you are planning on Option 2 and running the official NJ10 race course. Please check with their hours of operation and confirm they will be open, prior to scheduling your run.
You will receive a race number (basically used for your coupon) and a confirmation letter. Run the course when convenient for your. You must register today until May 1st. You must run the NJ10 course by May 15th. We will be updating results on our FB page weekly and posting the final results shortly there after, once everyone submits their individual results. All athletes will receive their finisher medal, Tshirt and Trophy (et als, if applicable), via snail mail, after the event. We will be constant contact with our Trophy and Tshirt vendors and will run the orders on May 15th base on the number of athletes that have registered.
B. Fall Event: Live In-Person Event: October 9th, 2021 (Pending Approvals)
The job of a police officer is a difficult one on the Officers, as well as each of their families. They work tireless hours at all times, day and night. They work thru inclement weather, holidays, their children’s birthdays parties, anniversary’s and many other family functions because of their commitment and obligation to their job and community. Answering calls every day, dealing with an often irate public, often putting themselves in harms way and often save lives . The job of a police officer is often thankless yet they get up everyday to protect the public for many they have never met. We hope this race raises awareness of the difficulties of police officer and of his/her duty to people that they protect. We hope you consider entering this race, during Police Week, that celebrates Police and the difficult job that they do. A portion of the proceeds go to the multiple area Police Explorer Posts who will be your volunteers during the race.

0800 Start time for both the 10 Miler and 5K
Introducing New Jersey’s 10 Miler and 5k. Arguably the MOST beautifully scenic 10 Miler in New Jersey and the Country. Runners are never more than a few feet from the water on the looped course.
This race was created to support the community, and help support a non-profit police organization during Police Week, in 2018 and 2019, as well as in 2020, all of the proceeds go to these non-profit programs. We commend the men and women in Blue and want to say thank you for the sometimes thankless job they do.
The below photos speak for them selves. Water view for the entire course. We bet this will be your favorite 10 miler and will agree the course is the most scenic one that you will ever run.
This race is will be the most scenic, but will be one of the most challenging 10 milers that you will do. There are three bridges on the route while atop of each of them is commanding view of the waterways and buildings of the three towns. All of the roads have been freshly paved and are fast surfaces to run on . We are bragging that this will be one of the Top Ten Ten Milers in the country, in terms of scenery, course and challenge.
The downside to running on the bridges is not the downside, but the uphill to get there. Below is an elevation map of the course. Although the elevation above sea level is less than 30 feet, the quarter to half mile ascents are steep by South Jersey standards. Regardless of the course being more challenging than all of the other 10 Mile races in the NY, NJ and Pennsylvania area. This will be a great early race season event to condition you into top fitness shape. ‘Tough out’ this early season race, and you will be in great shape for the rest of the race season.
We are asking that all runners complete the course within 3 hours and 20 minutes (20 minute miles). Due to safety reasons, if you are still on the course after that time limit, you will be pulled from the race course. We suggest that, as an athlete, you train for this event because of the distance, and the grade changes on the course, especially if you are used to training on flat terrain.
